How Where Your Story Starts Photography started!

We are coming upon our 1st birthday!  Here’s a little story about how we started!

Anytime we went anywhere new, we took our camera.  I really hated when we ran out of film and missed beautiful shots.  Once the digital camera’s came out, and down to a price point the common consumer could afford, we invested in one.  It was a Kodak, 5.0 megapixel with 3x optical zoom and that was AWESOME!  We were FREE to take as many photos as we wanted, and I loved scrap booking.  

We would get a group of friends and sit in my basement and scrapbook all day.  It was so fun, and a great stress reliever.  Her and I were scrap booking one weekend and she LOVED our photos.

In 2007 my dear friend got engaged. Her and her Finance approached us about doing her wedding photography.  At this point, we only had our 1 camera.  We told her, we’ve never done a wedding, and wanted to make sure that she was sure about it.  She decided they wanted us, and in lieu of payment, (we refused) they wanted to pay for our hotel on the beautiful Mackinaw Island and we agreed.  We purchased another camera.  Another Kodak but this one was an Easy Share with 12x optical zoom.  

We did the wedding in September of 2007, and it went off without a hitch and she LOVED her photos.  So we continued to get asked about doing weddings.  We did 7 weddings from 2007 through 2010 with updated gear!

In 2010 another great friend got pregnant.  Somewhere in her pregnancy, she asked me if we would consider doing newborn photos for her.  So we looked into what it took, and did a lot of research on poses, props and decided we would.  It was time to get somethings legal.

On April 13, 2011 we came up with the name “Where Your Story Starts Photography.  Our 1st baby was born May 23, 2011.  By the time momma and baby got home and comfortable, baby E was 2 weeks old.  We took his photos and momma LOVED them!  

Our 2nd baby was born June 21st!  We photographed him on July 6th, so he was a bit older, but AWAKE the entire session.  And the company has taken off from there!

And here is “B”!  he was our 2nd little man!  We’ve had both of them through their 9 months session, and we are currently planning their 1st birthdays!  Where has the time gone?
